EPS Insulation

EPS is a lightweight cellular plastics material consisting of small spherical shaped particles containing about 98% air. This microcellular closed cell construction provides EPS with excellent insulating and shock absorbing characteristics. High strength to weight ratio. Sheet EPS is cut from a primary block measuring 5.000m x 1.200m x .500m thick. EPS is an inert, organic material that will not rot. EPS is dimensionally stable after kiln drying and will not shrink or sag over time. EPS will last the life of buildings without physical damage. It has been used throughout the world for over 40 years.

The ‘K’ value or Thermal Conductivity Specifies the rate of heat transfer in any Material. If a material has a ‘K’ value of 1 it means a 1m cube will transfer heat at 1 watt for every degree of temperature difference between opposite faces. The lower the ‘K’ value the less heat the material will transfer. Eg:
EPS Grade ‘S’..................... = 0.038 w/mK.
Fiberglass............................= 0.050 w/mK.
Plasterboard 19mm.......... = 0.225 w/mK.
Concrete.............................. = 1.250 w/mK.
